The King's Avatar

I am unhealthily obsessed with this book. To preface this review, I've never played games or enjoyed E-sports, ever in my life. Yet, I picked up this almost 2000 chaptered and 6 million character long book. And since that faithful day I couldn't put it down. I was reading it on the bus, at the bus stop, on my toilet breaks... in bed till 6AM in the morning, repeatedly, which I thoroughly regret, but also don't.
Listen I’m not going to pretend this is great literature (nor that it isn’t repetitive and at times boring) and I wouldn’t have read it if not for the main character’s infuriating level of perfection but it was fun lol.
Go Happy! Go God Ye Xiu! The King's Avatar is one of the best works that I've read in regards to e-sport/games. The focus is purely on the game, the team and teamwork, there's no romance (what a change). Top tier pro-player Ye Xiu is kicked off his team, but Glory (the game) is still his passion, and he starts anew and finds teammates within the game.
