Terms of use

CNovel Compass provides curated recommendations, glossary explanations, and optional member-only annotations about Chinese web novels. We do not host or distribute novel text. Links to reading platforms are provided for convenience; the relevant third-party platform is responsible for its own content, availability, and terms.

You may use the site for personal, lawful purposes. Do not attempt to bypass membership access controls, interfere with the site, or copy and republish member-only material without permission.

Recommendations and annotations are editorial information, not a guarantee about a book, platform, availability, or suitability. Site features may change as the service develops.

Privacy notice

For account access, we process the email address you provide to Supabase Auth and the membership status associated with that account. Payment card details are processed by Paddle and are not stored by CNovel Compass.

We use privacy-minimised first-party page-view analytics. It records page paths and an HMAC-derived, daily visitor identifier so we can understand aggregate use. We do not sell personal data or use this analytics system for advertising profiles.

Supabase provides authentication and membership storage; Paddle acts as merchant of record for subscription payments. Their processing is governed by their respective privacy notices. To request account-related help, contact jyhanfiger@gmail.com.

Subscription, cancellation & refunds

Membership is an automatically renewing subscription at the price and billing interval shown in Paddle Checkout. Paddle processes payments, tax, receipts, and the customer billing experience as merchant of record.

You may cancel before the next renewal through the Paddle customer-portal link, when included in your billing receipt, or by contacting jyhanfiger@gmail.com. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the period already paid for.

If you believe a charge was made in error or need a refund, contact jyhanfiger@gmail.com promptly with your Paddle transaction reference. Refund requests are reviewed case by case and do not limit any non-waivable consumer rights that apply to you.
