Sword Snow Stray
A barefoot boy picks up a broken sword in a ruined temple — and quietly decides to hold up the heavens with it.
Chen Ping'an is the orphan son of a murdered carp-seller in the tiny town of Lucun. After he inherits an ancient sword spirit and a tiny clay figurine containing a former great-sword-wielding saint, his quiet life ends and his long walk through the cultivation world begins. Feng Huo Xi Zhu Hou writes a more literary xianxia than most — dense with classical allusion, Daoist philosophy, moral argument, and beautifully described sword fights. The 2024-2025 donghua adaptation made it one of the most-watched Chinese animations ever, and the English translation is now actively updating on WebNovel with growing international fan communities. Best for readers who want their xianxia with weight, not just power climbs.
