A 21st-century historical-archer wakes up in Chang'an, 757, the year An Lushan's rebels are about to burn the Tang.

Yuan Heng has a recurve bow, three carbon arrows, and the muscle memory of six years of competitive archery. History says the Tang recovers and prints ten thousand copies of itself within a generation. History says nothing about an obscure border captain who can put six arrows into a single bamboo pole at two hundred paces — until the emperor sees it on parade.
