Strange Dao Immortal
A man in a Chinese psychiatric ward realizes he can also see the cultivation world — and he's not sure which one is real.
Li Huixian believes he is a paranoid schizophrenic in a modern hospital. Then he also believes he is a struggling Daoist cultivator in a brutal ancient world where the gods are real and the demons are hungry. Each chapter flips between the two realities — and the line between hallucination and genuine cosmic horror is the whole point of the novel. Won multiple 2023-2024 reader awards, currently one of the most-discussed ongoing xianxia on the Chinese web. Unique hook for foreign readers: the horror/mental-illness framing translates into English extremely well.

Was Leser sagen
